Led by the Nutcracker artistic team, our workshops offer new and returning participants the opportunity to learn beloved Nutcracker roles, grow their technique and artistry, and train alongside dancers from across the Twin Cities.

Each day will include ballet technique and workshop sessions tailored to age and experience. Participants will have the opportunity to audition for the 2025 production at the end of the workshop week.

August 11–15 (ages 12+)

Learn choreography from Nutcracker’s signature corps de ballet and soloist roles! Placement into groups will be determined by a technique class and pointe evaluation on the first day.

August 18–22 (ages 6–11)

Step into Nutcracker’s magic - bring to life dancing mice, toys, young cousins, and other whimsical characters from Marie’s dream! Dancers training on pointe may be invited to learn select beginning pointe roles.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30am - 12:30pm
Location: Lundstrum Performing Arts, Minneapolis

Tuition: $225

Please note: Many Nutcracker roles (typically ages 13+) require intermediate to advanced pointe work, but it is not required for all roles in the production. During the workshops, dancers are welcome to learn and practice choreography in ballet slippers.

Workshops are open to all local dancers, regardless of dance school affiliation. There is no attendance policy for workshops, but dancers interested in auditioning for the 2025 production must attend the full Friday session. While we do our best to create as many opportunities as possible for students, we cannot guarantee that all dancers will be cast in performing or understudy roles. Participation in workshops or past productions does not guarantee casting in the 2025 production.

Participants may cancel their registration for a full refund up to 30 days before the workshop start date. After this deadline, payments are non-refundable.
